Episode 8: Fast Fashion (and our first guest!!)
What is "fast fashion"?
If you ask SNL it's this: https://www.tiktok.com/@nbcsnl/video/7370753651671026990?lang=en
Fast fashion can be defined as low-cost, trendy clothing rapidly produced by mass-market retailers in response to the latest trends. Fast fashion focuses on affordability and convenience – largely at the cost of people and the planet. Fast fashion plays into the idea that outfit repeating is a fashion faux pas. To stay relevant, you should be sporting the latest looks while they’re happening.
Well, thanks to the amazing Carissa (Emily S's cousin to boot!) we dig into all the things that fast fashion is and isn't. Carissa is the brains, beauty and brain behind Copious Fashions (https://www.copiousfashions.com/) and we talk about circular fashion and why she has "buy local. buy secondhand. buy less” on her website.
Check her out on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/CopiousFashions and Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/copiousfashions/ and she is even cool enough to tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@copiousfashions
